Red Army Engineering Corps
The Red Army Combat Engineering Corps is a comprehensive and capable unit type that doesn't shy from combat, going into the thick of battle to fix energy pylons, erect combat shielding, prepare invasion zones and landing pads in preparation for and in tandem with the arrival and deployment of more combat oriented units of the Red Army. Equipped with an assortment of tools and trained in the arts of construction under stress and advanced engineering, these brave souls tend the Fleets and armored units of the Armada and the Army when they are docked with orbital stations or in transit to the combat zones. On the ground, they are equipped MIBRA Mk I sets and Valiant Model close quarters shotguns. Improvised weaponry includes their plasma cutters and torches, deadly and effective in the low and narrow corridors of starships and pre-fabricated outposts.
REPC using the OM12 Flamethrower, circa PD 190
The Red Army Pyrotechnics Corps is a subdivision of RAEC and are used to burn anything and everything, they are also commonly referred to as Azure Breathers due to the color of the flames emitted by their standard weapon, the M1 Plasmathrower.
REPC (pronounced Repock) is a relatively small subdivision, consisting of only about one percent of RAEC's numbers, and is divided into 250 teams, they were used most notably by Velikorossiya in her bid for control of "Planet X", following a very strict scorched earth policy.
C-7 Cortosis Cynder Droid
Background Information:
The C-7 cortosis cynder droid is designed by Velikorp to work under extreme conditions, used to to mine valuable materials in the most inhospitable of environments. Hundreds of thousands can be found at the Great Mining Fields of Stalingrad.
Stats:
Their outer shell is made out of cortosis, a substance that can block lightsaber attacks. The black outer shell is clamped to the droids' frame in formfitting plates. The droids also have the same intelligence matrix as the similar B2 battle droid. The ball joint of the wrist allow the their hands to swivel in almost any direction. The droids can also use their arms to block lightsaber blades.
Standard Vehicles of the Red Army Engineering Corps
Lovingly referred to as the SM7 Sidearm, this weapon fires a small but highly concentrated blast of plasma, the blast itself is so bright that it fails to register on the human spectrum (it appears in the higher end of the UV Scale and emits almost zero black-body spectrum).
This weapon, fresh off the production lines as of PD 211, is quite powerful, and doesn't actually need to reload, but to be recharged, once every 24 hours is recommended (like, when you're sleeping), but it can go without for three times as long, this weapon has quickly become the most trusted small arm in the soviet military, and besides being adopted by RAEC, it has additionally been adopted by Red Army Infantry.

The term 'flamethrower' is no longer accurate, even if it is used by the Red Army Pyrotechnics Corp. Today (PD 211), starting with this, the M1 Plasmathrower, all top of the line weapons made for the purpose of burning things shall spit out plasma, not fire. It, unlike its predessessors, breaths a blue or purple flamelike cone, and can be used with extreme efficiancy even in a zero oxygen environment. Unlike its fellow Soviet Industries brethren, the SM7 and the AK-11BA, the M1-P does need to be reloaded occassionally, usually after four hours of constant use, or sixteen of "regular" use. The M1 Plasmathrower was built-to-order for the Red Army Pyrotechnics Corp, who is currently the only military division to use it.
Standard Vehicles of the Red Army Engineering Corps
The Light Mobile Construction Vehicle (LMCV) is used by the Red Army Engineering Corp to, well, build things. Quickly.
The Heavy Mobile Construction Vehicle (HMCV) is used for the same purposes as the LMCV, but on a larger, more powerful scale.
The VI Harvester is used in mining operations throughout the universe.
Machinations of the Red Army Engineering Corps
TSD-1 Generator
A tactical shielding device, known as the TSD-1 "Iron Curtain", is one of the greatest single accomplishments of the Red Army Engineering Corps. It can, depending on the capabilities of the energy source it draws on, shield entire cities, preventing either anything from entering, but allowing anything out, or preventing both. The difference is merely in the setting, and can be switched at any time. The TSD-1 can run indefinately, assuming that it has a constant energy source, if that source fails, the shield will cease to exist in a matter of hours.
The Red Army Engineering Corps has recently (as of PD 212) discovered a safe way to create stable wormholes, allowing the USSR to trade with the Verse while at the same time keep their true location a secret.
