Czar Aleksandr IV was elected vivente rege to succeed Marius I as Monarch in PD 162, and narrowly lost the election for Executive Chairman to Leyonid Vasilyev, a much more aggressive person, both politically and on the battlefield. His official title was Czar of the Greater and Lesser Russias.
Czar Aleksandr IV's reign, lasting only a short thirteen years, ended tragically with his assassination at the hands of the infamous terrorist organization based in Volkswagen, known as the Myst, of whom rigged explosives in the ceiling of the diplomatic center in the Palace of the Soviets targeting the former Chairman Leyonid Vasilyev, who was late to attend the meeting, Aleksandr IV's firstborn son, who succeeded him as Czar, Mikhail Romanov was exiting the room when the explosion took place, permanently scarring his left shoulder and and face. Czar Aleksandr IV was seventy-nine years of age.
